Int’l exhibition on textile, garment to open in Vietnam

The 21 st Vietnam International Textile and Garment Industry exhibition will open on April 8 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Covering an area of over 7,000 square metres, the exhibition is expected to accommodate more than 300 pavilions of around 6,000 enterprises from 20 countries and territories, including mainland China , Hong Kong, the US , Japan , the UK , Sweden and Vietnam .

Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association, Duong Thi Ngoc Dung said the exhibition is expected to be Vietnam’s first ever to meet the standard set by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), aims to create opportunity for Vietnamese garment enterprises to study and purchase modern equipment manufactured in developed countries.

It is also aimed at developing the country’s textile and garments industry and promoting “Made in Vietnam ” brand name.

At the event, enterprises will showcase various kinds of automatic, modern and accurate machines, which help to save production time, power and fuels including sewing machines, labelling and textile machinery and accessories. Moreover, Chinese and Thailand businesses will introduce hundreds of cloth samples and materials such as moisture cloth, anti-bacterial cloth and environmentally friendly cloth.- VNA
