Hydropower firm yet to finalise electricity price with EVN

Vo Thanh Trung, general director of Vinh Son-Song Hinh Hydropower Joint Stock Co (coded VSH) said that the company has not finished negotiation process with Electricity of Vietnam Group (EVN) about 2010 electricity price. The company temporarily calculated the electricity price for the first five months of this year at 90 percent of last year’s price.

In Jan-May, VSH estimated to reach total production output of 374.6 million KWh, gaining accumulative revenue of 193.5 billion dong. Up to now, the company has already disbursed about 130 billion dong for Thuong Kon Tum hydropower plant project that was supposed to be finished in 2014 with designed capacity of 1.1 billion KWh per year.

Up to the end of first quarter of 2010, the hydropower firm reported gaining total revenue from sales and services of 98.75 billion dong, down 29 percent year-on-year, and after tax profit of 78.38 billion dong, dropping by 35.26 percent against the same period of last year.

Due to the shortage of water in dry season, Vinh Son-Song Hinh hydropower JSC expected to achieve 2010 electricity output of about 834 million KWh, a 10 percent reduction against that of 2009.
