Health information portal makes debut

The Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Groups (VNPT) and the Ministry of Health (MOH) on August 11 launched a “for community health” information portal at www.vho.vn.

The portal will provide people with information and knowledge of health care services, diseases, drugs, epidemic outbreaks preventive measures, as well as food hygiene and safety to help raise their awareness of health care.

Nguyen Minh Hong, Deputy Minister of Information and Communication, said the debut of the portal is of great significance for the people’s growing demand for healthcare information.

He said information to be published on the site must be accurate and reliable, provided by MOH agencies and hospitals, and popular domestic and foreign doctors.

There are now 14,000 articles and more than 3,000 video and audio files on the portal giving information about the most well-known diseases.

In the future, VNPT will invest in another network to disseminate information about community health. – VOV
