HCM City’s industrial value increases by 14pct in 10 months

HCM City Department of Industry and Trade released that the city’s industrial production value according to which in the first ten months of 2010 it may reach 167.583 trillion dong, increasing by 14 percent against the same period of last year.

In October only, HCM City estimated to gain 19.180 trillion dong, rising by 14.9 percent year-on-year and up 0.06 percent from the previous month.

In the first ten months of 2010, the non-state domestic firms contributed 43 percent of the total industrial production value.
The machine manufacturing sector accounted for 3.489 trillion dong, up 37.1 percent year-on year, marking the strongest rise among the industrial sectors in the city.

Most of the remaining sectors saw an increase against the first ten months of 2009, except for coal mining (down 33 percent), office equipment production (down 13 percent) and transportation means (down 13 percent). – TBKTVN
