HCM City’s CPI in September soar 0.88pct

HCM City’s CPI (consumer price index) in September is estimated to have increased by 0.88% from August and 18.87% over the same period last year, HCM City Statistics Bureau reported on September 20.
Thus, the city’s CPI in the first nine months of this year is estimated to have increased by 14.49% from the end last year.

Of 11 baskets of commodities comprising the index, nine groups of goods saw rise in CPI whereas two ones posted falls in CPI in month namely transport and post and telecommunication.

The group of education posted the strongest rise of up to 4.54% on higher tuition.

Notably, the group of restaurant and catering services increased less than 1%.
