HCM City organises month-long discount

HCM City will begin its annual big sales month on September 1, aiming to promote local demand for Vietnamese products as well as attract tourists.

“This promotional month will be an effective response to the national ‘Vietnamese people buy Vietnamese goods campaign as well as the ‘Impressive Viet Nam Grand Sale 2010′,” said Nguyen Vinh Nhung, director of the city’s Industry and Trade Department.

It is expected that 600 companies, including many in the garments, food and beverages, home appliances, tourist and banking services industries will participate the promotion month, offering price reductions ranging from four to 49 per cent. Lucky draws and gifts will also be part of the promotion campaign.

The programme would highlight environmental friendly products, Nhung said.
