Gold price surpasses 28m dong/ounce

The global price of precious metal saw a straight increase of $33 at New York trading time on June 7, which pushed the domestic gold price up 270,000-330,000 dong per tael to break the threshold of 28 million dong per tael.

Yesterday, the buying-selling prices of SJC gold bar in HCM City suddenly jumped 310,000 dong and 330,000 dong correspondingly to 28.05-28.13 million dong per tael. Till 8:40am on the same day, SJC continued raising the buying selling prices to 28.08-28.17 million dong/tael, expanding the gap between buying and selling prices to 90,000 dong/tael.

Also, Than Tai Sacombank gold bar price surged 270,000 dong (buying price) and 330,000 dong (selling price) from June 7 to close at 28.07 and 28.11 million dong/tael.

In the international market, gold price continuously increased strongly from $1,212 to $1,245 per ounce. Finally, the price ended at $1,240/ounce. Gold price for August delivery on Comex floor of New York on June 7 soared $23.1 to $1,240.8 per ounce.

Yesterday morning, the gold price kept decreasing slightly. At 9:45am Hanoi time, each ounce of gold was traded at $1,237.80 (down $2.2 compared with the opening price) equalling to 28.63 million dong/tael (1 percent import tariff inclusive).

US dollar price on June 8 was retained at 18,960-19,020 dong per US dollar at Vietcombank, 18,940-19,000 dong/US dollar at Eximbank, and 18,900 dong at ACB.
