Gasoline price up, stock price down Mar 30


Gasoline price was officially raised by 2,000 dong per litre and kerosene price up 2,800 dong per litre starting from 10pm on March 29, 2011, according to official joint statement of ministries of finance, trade and industry. The information on petroleum price rise was the centre point during the trading session on March 30 and partly influenced to the psychology of investors on the Vietnam’s stock market.



However, closing the trading session today (March 30), the VN Index gained 2.16 points, or 0.47 percent to 460.04 pts.

Conversely, the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) still continued the downtrend as the HNX Index slipped 0.46 points or 0.5 percent to 91.48 pts.



On Hochiminh Stock Exchange (STC), the total trading volume including matching order trade and negotiation transactions reached over 22.02 million shares worth more than 642.36 billion dong, falling 24.58 percent in volume and 27.74 percent in value from the previous trading session.



On the northern bourse, the total market trade reached more than 30.43 million shares valued at over 444.55 billion dong, falling 51.97 percent in volume and 47.97 percent in value from the last trading session.



At the time of ending the trading session, the southern bourse saw 77 gainers and 148 losers and the northern bourse witnessed 76 gainers and 205 losers.
