Forum discusses expansion of GAP model in rice production

A forum was held in the southern province of Tien Giang on September 10 to encourage agricultural activities and expand the Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) model in rice cultivation.

Forum delegates said rice production under the GAP model is a global trend of modern agriculture which demands closer cooperation among farmers, businesses, and scientists to provide needed technical assistance to farmers and identify outlets for rice.

Nguyen Van Khang, deputy chairman of the Tien Giang People’s Committee says the Global GAP model has brought good results in rice cultivation and has been expanded in some part of the country. It has helped some farmers sell their rice at a price 20 percent higher than the normal price. – VOV
