Ford Vietnam drives up prices

Ford Viet Nam announced on Monday a price increase of 4.7–6.1 per cent for all of its models, due to an adjustment of its VAT rate from 5 to 10 per cent.

As part of a promotion to ease the price hike, customers who buy Ford Everest, Transit and Mondeo models in the first months of 2010, will remain exempted from all VAT taxes. Customers who purchase the models under promotion will also receive free accessories.

The programme is expected to be implemented during the first quarter of the year.
