Footwear Tops Vietnam’s Exports to Belgium in Q1

Vietnam’s footwear took the lead in exports to Belgium in the first quarter of 2010, with a turnover of $54.7 million, up 27.5% on-year.

The footwear revenues accounted for 30.1% of the country’s total export turnover to the European market.

In the three-month period, Vietnam exported $18.3 million worth of apparels to Belgium, up 28.7%on-year, and $13.6 million worth of bags, suitcases, hats and umbrellas, down 17.8% on year.

Trade between Vietnam and Belgium fell to $1.1 billion in 2009.
