First turbine of Se Re Pok 3 hydropower plant joins national grid
The first turbine of Se Re Pok hydropower No 3 with designed capacity of 110 MW has joined the national grid at 11:15 am on June 25, 2010.
After eight days of trial running, the first turbine of Se Re Pok hydropower plant started commercial operation five days earlier than the approved plan by the government.
The second turbine is expected to be put into operation in September 2010.
Se Re Pok hydropower plant No 3 has two turbines with total designed capacity of 220 MW. The plant would be built in the lower part of 280- MW Buon Kuop hydropower plant in communes of Ea Nhol, Buon Don Dist, Dak Lak province and Ea Po, Cu Jut Dist, Dak Nong province, about 25 kilometres from Buon Ma Thuot City.
