EVN allowed to build thermo power plant in north

People’s Committee of the northern province of Quang Ninh has recently approved Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) to study and build a 1,200 MW thermo power plant in Phuong Nam commune, Uong Bi city, Quang Ninh province.

Accordingly, EVN will be responsible for reporting to the prime minister and Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) to carry out following steps for the project in line with the current regulations.

The 1,200 MW thermo power plant will include main plant, port, pumping station, water pipelines and distribution field with a total area of about 132 hectares.
