Ebay to pick up 20 pct stake in Vietnam partner

American online trading site eBay bought a 20 percent stake in its Vietnamese partner Peacesoft Tuesday for an undisclosed sum.

In 2008 eBay and Peacesoft set up a partnership that allows Peacesoft to manage eBay’s business in Vietnam through co-branded online auction site chodientu.com.

Peacesoft said the deal will strengthen its financial potential to expand its online auction business in Vietnam.

The two are set to strengthen chodientu.com’s online payment, advertising, and price viewing and connect the site to other markets in the region.
