Domestic gold prices rise to nearly VND26.40 million/tael

Domestic gold on April 22 rose by VND30,000/tael reflecting a concurrent rise in world gold prices.

At 10.30am, SJC gold at Sai Gon Jewelry Holding Company stood at VND26.31-26.38 million/tael, up by VND30,000/tael from the previous day’s open.

Meanwhile, SBJ gold at Sacombank Jewelry Company was listed at VND26.33-26.34 million/tael and Thang Long Dragon gold at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company fluctuated around VND26.35 million/tael.

In the world market, gold was transacted at US$1,146.1 per ounce, an increase of US$5 per ounce since yesterday. The rise was influenced by the recovery of the USD/EUR exchange rate. On April 22, the rate rose to US$1.3386 per EUR.

Crude oil appeared healthy again, staying at US$83.47 per barrel.

In Vietnam, the exchange rate between the US dollar and the Vietnamese Dong hovered around VND19,000 per US dollar.
