Da Nang’s import-export turnovers reach $4.37bln in 2011
Da Nang- the central city of Vietnam has been estimated to run import-export turnovers of $4.37 billion in 2011, increasing 100.5% from 2010, the city’s Department of Customs said.
In details, Da Nang earned $2.04 billion from exports in 2011, making an on-year rise of 69% while it spent $2.32 billion to import goods and services, up 138.4% from a year earlier, resulting in a trade deficit of $238 million in the year. The state-run newspaper Quan Doi Nhan Dan (Peoples’ Army Newspaper) reported the figures from the Da Nang’s Department of Customs without details on the city’s import and export staples.
The central city also posted retail sales and service revenues of VND42.67 trillion in 2011, rising 25.2% from 2010 and surpassing 22.6% the city’s full year target.
