Container ship route opens
The Gemadept Corporation has opened a container ship route that links the Gemadept Dung Quat International Port in the central Quang Ngai Province to ports in Quy Nhon, HCM City and Singapore, from where goods will be transferred to other destinations.
One 600TEU ship will use the route every week, and the goods handling time will be 10 hours, Gemadept officials said.
The port began operations in late 2009 with a 160m wharf and a 100,000sq.m yard capable of holding 6,000 containers. The facilities were the first phase of the project.
