Construction glass demand on rise

Vietnam Construction Glass Association (Vieglass) recently said that construction glass demand is increasing strongly, averaging at 8-10 percent/year.

As forecasted, till 2016, the country will need about 178 million square metres of standard glass yearly.

Vieglass also petitioned construction investors to use safe glass as a forced regulation for projects (office building, trade centre, apartments, hospital and school).

Recently, Chu Lai Float Glass Joint Stock Co put into operation the largest float glass factory in Southeast Asia with an estimated capacity of 900 tonnes per day and total investment of $100 million.

The factory’s products under the JIS 3202-1996 Japanese standard will be distributed by IDT Group Joint Stock Co only.
