Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa
Vietnam will attend the third investment forum of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), scheduled for mid April in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
This will be a good opportunity for Vietnam along with African and Asian countries to promote investment cooperation.
The forum will discuss ways of seeking out investment opportunities and building a real partnership between COMESA and other African countries and the international business community.
Issues on development, growth in infrastructure, information and technology, telecommunications, agriculture, renewable energies, financial services and tourism will also be examined.
The Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt, Pham Sy Tam, will attend the forum at the invitation of Egyptian Minister of Investment Mahmoud Mohi El Din. After his recent visit to Vietnam, Mr El Din stated that Vietnam could be a gateway for Egyptian businesses and investors to penetrate the Southeast Asian market.
He added that his meetings with Vietnamese State and Party leaders have helped to boost economic, trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Egypt, particularly in pharmaceuticals, fertiliser production, transport, industry, agriculture and finance.
