Coffee prices rise to VND35,200/Kg
The domestic coffee prices has increased by VND800/kg to between VND35,000-VND35,2000 per kilo in Vietnam’s highland provinces , the online newspaper DVT reported on November 19,citing local farmers.
Vietnam has the most Robusta coffee output in the world. Therefore, the domestic coffee prices are likely to be affected by the world price changes.
The prices of Robusta coffee reached $1,904/ton on November 18 at the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange, increasing $52/ton from the previous day and up 43.27% on year.
Earlier, the Vietnam Coffee and Cacao Association attributed the coffee price hike to the increasing demand in the world market while heavy rain caused crop damage in Vietnam, the second biggest coffee exporter. – Stoxplus.com
