CMC and SAP sign strategic partnership

A signing ceremony for a strategic partnership agreement between CMC Joint Stock Corporation (CMC) and SAP Corporation (SAP) – the world leading software service providers, was held in Ha Noi on Wednesday to develop the major enterprise market in Viet Nam.

Under the agreement, CMC will officially become SAP’s strategic partner in consulting and implementing SAP enterprise solution applications. The main objective of the partnership is to target the large enterprise market segment which includes the country’s major economic groups and large corporations.

In a speech delivered at the ceremony, CMC’s General Director Nguyen Trung Chinh said the agreement marks the first step for CMC to participate in the SAP global network as well as expand and develop strong business activities in implementing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions in Viet Nam.

“We believe that the partnership between CMC and SAP will reap huge success,” Chinh said.

Also at the event, SAP’s Chief Representative and Country Manager Francis Lee said they looked forward to playing an active role in helping large enterprises, particularly in telecommunications, financial services and the public sector achieve clarity, efficiency and insight in all operations.

“We also look forward to working with these customers to enhance their competitiveness both domestically and globally, ” Lee said.

On the same day, CMC signed SAP-ERP project with Segmenta-CMC Joint Venture Company.

Chinh said the system will help them to improve their management and operation capacities, enable online management and enhance the stability of the corporation’s entire system.

According to IT and business management experts, the solution has been successfully implemented in leading finance and technology corporations worldwide.

“The implementation of the project across the entire CMC system is the most obvious proof of the highly adaptive character and responsive nature of the solution, making it ideal for domestic financial and technology groups. It shows that Vietnamese technology corporations have sufficient capacity, financial resources and long-term vision to leapfrog and fully leverage future development opportunities,” said general director of Segmenta-CMC Joint Venture Company Pham Tuan Trung.

CMC is one of Viet Nam’s leading technology corporations. It has experienced high growth in three IT, telecom and E-business with an annual growth averaging at least 30 per cent.
