Cell phone chat debuts

Internet service provider Yahoo! and Viettel Telecom signed an agreement in Hanoi on August 25 to provide online chat service to Viettel subscribers.

A Viettel Telecom representative affirmed that, by using the service, subscribers will easily able to sign into their Yahoo! account online from their cell phone.

“Viettel Telecom is the first internet service provider in Vietnam that has cooperated with Yahoo! Messenger providing the chat service”, said Le Huu Hien, Vice General Director of the corporation.

The Yahoo! Messenger chat programme, accessible without intermediary software and highly secure, is compatible with more than 100 types of cell phones available on the market.

“Yahoo! hopes to satisfy the user with this convenient service in the age of information technology”, said South East Asia Yahoo! CEO Yvonne Chang. – VOV
