Car sales reach over 10,000 units in Sept.

In its sales report in September 2011, Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (Vama) said that in the month, the sales volume of its members reached 10,031 units, rising 10% from last Sept., of which, four-seat cars and multipurpose vehicles increased 51% and 1% respectively while commercial vehicles posted a fall of 12% year on year.
The accumulated sales volume in the first nine months of this year reached 80,678 units, up 3% year on year, of which, four-seat cars saw a rise of 31.6% on year, multipurpose vehicles were up 4% and commercial vehicles were down 13% on year.

In September, Toyota continued to lead in terms of the sales volume, with 3,048 units, up 16% over the same period last year but decreased 2% from August. Truong Hai ranked at the second with 2,677 units sold in month, up 22% on year and remaining unchanged in volume from August. GM Daewoo sold 1,068 units, up 7.1% on year and 17% on month.

Consumption in the North and South was approximately the same, with 4,538 vehicles and 4,458 units in the North in the South respectively while consumption in the central region reached only 1,035 vehicles. – Source: Vietbiz24.com
