Canon Vietnam helps to fire Bac Ninh to success
Canon Vietnam’s two Bac Ninh province-based factories have achieved grand export results in the first nine months of this year.
Ogiwara Tadayuki, general manager of Canon Vietnam’s corporate planning, said export earnings from Que Vo and Tien Son factories had reached more than 60 per cent of the whole company’s total export turnover and grew about 180 per cent compared with the same period last year.
“Canon Vietnam obtained such good results thanks to the recovery of the world’s market after the serious crisis of 2009,†Tadayuki said.
Tadayuki also said apart from contributing to Vietnam’s economic development, Canon Vietnam had been known as a pioneer in corporate social responsibility activities. From 2007 to 2010, Canon Vietnam has built and supported many schools for children in provinces of Thanh Hoa, Hoa Binh, Lai Chau and others.
In addition to these programmes, Canon Vietnam has joined many other social activities such as supporting the Red Cross, donating gifts to poor children on the occasion of Vietnam’s Mid – Autumn and Tet holidays.
“In Canon Vietnam’s opinion, businesses are to bring happiness to customers, not only caring about products and technology,†Tadayuki said.
The company cares about not only people’s lives but also their environment. Therefore, the company’s “Environmental Protection Propaganda†programme has been implemented in many primary schools in provinces of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh.
In addition, Canon Vietnam has contributed to protection of the earth through the project “For a Green Vietnam†fulfilled in March every year.
