Businesses to attend Aquatic Asia 2011 in Thailand

Aquatic Asia 2011, a trade show for Asia-Pacific aquaculture businesses, will take place in Bangkok from March 9-11, 2011.

The announcement came at a July 16 press briefing, jointly held in Ho Chi Minh City by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau, the Thailand-based NCC Exhibition Organiser Company (NCC), and the Minh Vi Exhibition and Advertising Services Company.

At the event, vice head of the HCM City office under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Trang, characterized Aquatic Asia 2011 as a trade promotion activity which helps connect the region’s aquaculture producers, distributors and consumers.

The show will introduce Vietnamese businesses to advanced production methods and modern equipment for the sector and give them an opportunity to swap experience and advertise their products, said Trang.

NCC Managing Director Ladda Mongkochaivivat said Aquatic Asia 2011 will provide aquatic product distributors with a chance to explore market trends, production technology, and innovations in aquaculture.

Besides such topics as trade promotion, production, and marketing, the show will have a strong focus on the mariculture of four major aquatic products including fish, algae, crustaceans, and mollusks, said Mrs. Mongkochaivivat.

The event will encompass workshops and symposiums on the development of the sector in the Asia-pacific region, as well as activities to introduce new business strategies.
