  • Dien Quang Lamp Joint Stock Co (coded DQC) announced having 3.56 billion dong of 2009 undistributed after tax profit. The company’s management board lately sought approval from shareholders about transferring 2009 investment development fund of 40 billion dong to into undistributed profit. Therefore, DQC planned to pay 2009 dividend in cash at 10 percent.
  • The shareholders attending the Petrolimex Import-Export Joint Stock Co (coded PIT)’s annual meeting held on April 28, 2010 discussed about issuing additional 1,066,559 shares to allocate for existing shareholders at ratio of 100:10 in order to raise chartered capital to 118 billion dong in Q2.
  • Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) has recently announced receiving registration document from Rong Viet (Viet Dragon) Securities Joint Stock Co (coded VDS) to move listing from UPCoM market to the northern bourse.
  • Annual shareholders’ meeting of Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank) Real Estate Co (Sacomreal) on April 28 agreed to list 100 million ordinary shares at the face value of 10,000 dong per share on Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) in Q3, equalling to the company’s chartered capital of one trillion dong.
  • Truong Thanh Wood Furniture Joint Stock Co (coded TTF) announced that May 12 would be the registration deadline to close the shareholders list for allocating bonus shares. The ex-interest session would be May 10.
  • The southern bourse-listed Saigon Securities Inc (coded SSI) has passed the 2010 business plan with targeted revenue of 1.52 trillion dong and pre-tax profit of 1.2 trillion dong in its annual shareholders meeting held on April 28.
  • Vietnam Electrical Wire and Cable Joint Stock CO (Cadivi) planned to register for listing shares on Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (STC) after raising chartered capital from 160 billion dong to 192 billion dong, in accordance with the resolution approved in the annual shareholders meeting on April 28.
  • Annual shareholders’ meeting of Song Da 2 Joint Stock Co (coded SD2) on April 28 agreed a plan to offer five million shares to hike chartered capital to 120 billion dong.
  • Cadovimex Seafood Import-Export and Processing Joint Stock Company (CAD) cancelled its general meeting last Thursday because there were not enough shareholders attending the meeting as required by law.
  • Vietnam Mechanisation Electrification & Construction Joint Stock Company (MCG) has announced May 7 as the ex-dividend date for shareholders to receive 2009 second-round dividend of 5 percent in cash.
  • The State Securities Commission has licensed Agribank Securities Joint Stock Company (AGR) to issue 80 million shares to increase its chartered capital from 1.2 trillion dong to 2 trillion dong.
  • Sao Ta Food Co (FMC) has announced May 7 as the ex-dividend date for shareholders to receive 2009 dividend of 12 percent in cash. Meanwhile, Chau Thoi Concrete No 620 Co (BT6) has announced May 6 as the ex-dividend date for shareholders to receive 2009 dividend of 18 percent in cash.
  • PetroVietnam Finance Corp (PVF) has announced May 5 as the ex-dividend date for shareholders to receive 2009 dividend of 6 percent in cash.
  • Military Medical Equipment and Pharmaceuticals Company will auction 2.9 million shares at the Hanoi Stock Exchange on May 13 with the starting price of 10,000 dong per share.
  • Song Da Industrial Zone Development and Investment Joint Stock Co (coded SJS) announced gaining Jan-March revenue from sales and services of 81 billion dong, about 20 times higher than the same period of last year, financial revenue of 22 billion dong, up 222 percent year-on-year while Q1 financial cost was estimated at over 133.4 million dong.
  • Rang Dong Light Source & Vacuum Flask Joint Stock Co (coded RAL) announced to reach Q1 net revenue of 375.7 billion dong, a year-on-year increase of 48.7 percent. In comparison with the previous quarter, the company’s Jan-March revenue surged by 44.4 billion dong or 13.4 percent.
  • Ntaco Joint Stock Co (coded ATA) has recently announced business results in Q1 with 139.14 billion dong of revenue from sales and service provision, up 26.54 percent from 2009′s 109.96 billion dong.
  • Entering the second quarter of this year, most of the paper producers have to face with much difficulty due to the increasing prices in raw materials such as electricity, water, chemicals, as well as transportation costs. In addition, the bank’s interest rates keep on surging. Therefore, the enterprises agreed to raise the paper prices.
  • After the first three months of 2010, Phuoc Hoa Rubber Joint Stock Co (coded PHR) reported gaining net revenue of 252.4 billion dong, increasing by 45.6 percent year-on-year
  • The southern-listed PetroVietnam Fertiliser and Chemical Joint Stock Co (coded DPM) reported gaining Q1 revenue of over 1.433 trillion dong, dropping by 26.4 percent against the same period of last year.
  • PetroVietnam Gas Corp (PV Gas) today April 29 is to start construction on Bac Lieu Tower project including trade centre, office for lease and high-class hotel with the total investment of about 200 billion dong in Bac Lieu town, southern province of Bac Lieu.
  • Saigon Da Nang Investment Co (SDN) under Saigon Investment Group (SGI) was licensed to build a 12-hectare resort in Son Tra-Dien Ngoc beach, Da Nang City. Work on resort project capitalised at $110 million, named Le Meridien Da Nang Resort & Spa, will start on May 4.
  • Education Finance Investment Joint Stock Co (coded EFI) has recently announced business results in Q1 with 3.5 billion dong of revenue and 2.6 billion dong of pre tax profit.
  • Vietnam Construction Joint Stock Corp (Vinaconex – coded VCG) reported that the parent company earned net revenue of 484.6 billion dong in the first three months of this year, reducing by 2.7 percent year-on-year.
  • HCM City High-tech Park (SHTP) officially began the second phase construction project on April 28, 2010 with total investment capital of 5.8 trillion dong. The construction works will be carried out on the total area of 613 hectares, including infrastructure and other supporting facilities in order to attract investors.
  • Hoang Long Seafood Ltd Co on April 26 inaugurated a fishery-processing factory in Dong Thap Province. Initially, it will process 40 tonnes of fish per day and plans to be operating at full capacity at the end of 2010. The factory is part of the company’s fishery processing and breeding project worth 758 billion dong.
  • Hoc Mon Commercial Joint Stock Company and its partners broke ground for Hoc Mon Plaza in HCM City. The plaza comprizes apartments and a commercial centre and expects to be operational by 2012.
  • PetroVietnam Construction Joint Stock Corporation in the central region recently began building a Polypropylene package-processing factory in Dung Quat Economic Zone with total investment capital of 140 billion dong.
  • HCM City-based Hoa Viet My Co has cooperated with Ninh Thuan’s Farming Promotion Centre to guide local farmers to pilot asparagus tree planting. Farmers can earn 200-300 million dong from raising one hectare of asparagus each year. The company said it would collect the trees for farmers.
  • PetroVietnam Construction Joint Stock Corporation and PetroVietnam Exploitation Production Corporation recently broke ground for a petroleum hotel in Thai Binh Province with investment capital of 503 billion dong. The hotel meets four-star standards and has luxury apartments and offices for rent.
  • Dat Xanh Real Estate Service & Construction Corporation (DXG) last year obtained 84.9 billion dong in revenue and 38.1 billion dong in pre-tax profit, exceeding its annual targets by 51 percent and 78 percent respectively. The company plans to pay 2009 dividend of 35 percent in cash. This year it raises targets to 445 billion dong in revenue and 171 billion dong in pre-tax profit.
  • Vietnam Export Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Eximbank-coded EIB) yesterday passed a plan of hiking its chartered capital from 8.8 trillion dong to over 10.056 trillion dong by this September at latest.
  • State commercial banks agreed to cut down the lending rates by 0.5-1 percent pa as for some groups of borrowers from May 1 according to the government’s order.
  • State Bank of Vietnam (SBV)’s governor on April 28 issued a Decision No 1048/QD-NHNN approving Western Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Western Bank) to change name to West Commercial Joint Stock Bank (West Bank)
  • Insurer Liberty on April 27 introduced the tourism insurance product named Liberty TravelCare, an accident insurance for human, hospital cost, medical service usage in foreign countries, loss of luggage, and damages when travelling.
  • Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam announced that from May 4, its short term lending rate on loans for business will be 13 percent pa at maximum, down 1 percent compared with the current benchmark.
  • The State Bank of Vietnam has allowed Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) to issue 10 trillion dong worth of long-term debt papers, including 7 trillion dong worth in dong and the remainder in US dollar.
  • The State Bank of Vietnam has entrusted Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (Agribank) to give subsidised loans for enterprises to buy coffee for retention. The government will cover six percent-age points in the lending rate for those loans effective from April 15 to October 15.
