Belarus and Vietnam to cooperate in petrochemical industry

The parties of the Belarusian-Vietnamese intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation, held in Minsk, agreed on cooperation in the petrochemical industry. This was stated by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergei Aleinik on November 16.
According to Foreign Ministry spokesman, petrochemical theme was the highlight of the talks. Sergei Aleinik noted that the parties discussed the possibility of joint exploration and minerals mining in Vietnam, as well as in the third countries, BelTA informs.
Sergei Aleinik also informs that more specific forms of communication will be determined soon in this field – particularly, during the upcoming meeting of business executives of “Belneftekhim” and “Belorusneft” companies with the leadership of the Vietnamese company “PetroVietnam.”
According to Telegraf, Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergei Aleinik also said on November 16 that Vietnamese authorities intended to sign a free trade agreement with the Customs Union. “The regime of free trade with Vietnam opens wide prospects for Belarus in the region of South-East Asia, since all the ASEAN countries have free trade regime today,” the deputy minister said.
