Azerbaijan calls Vietnam to establish JVs in rural industry
Azerbaijan-Vietnam Business Forum has been held in Baku today. It was organized by Azerbaijan Investment Company (AIC) and Azerbaijan Export Promotion & Investment Foundation (Azpromo) with support of the Ministry of Economic Development. Along with two countries’ governmental officials the forum involved over 40 representatives of business circles of Azerbaijan and close to 60 businessmen from Vietnam.
In his speech Vietnamese deputy prime minister Hoang Chung Hai pointed out that trade turnover between both countries grew every year and following 2009 exceeded $12.6 million.
“Besides, in our view, there is substantial potential of growth in mutual economic and business relations,†he added.
According to AIC executive director Afgan Isayev, substantial capital investments in development of transport infrastructure, favorable tax regime, advantageous geographical location and other factors condition attractiveness of Azerbaijan for foreign investors.
“We are ready to co-operate in any industry of economy. And in our opinion, agriculture is one of the most perspective directions for development of economic co-operation between Azerbaijan and Vietnam. Vietnam’s rich experience in this field and comparatively low customs duties for import of products from CIS countries will enable us by joint efforts to cultivate markets in countries located in north and east from Azerbaijan,†Isayev stressed.
The Forum finished by bipartite meetings between two countries’ entrepreneurs.
