Attractive Destinations in Southern Ca Mau Province
Ca Mau cape
Ca Mau cape is the peninsula at the southern tip of Vietnam in Dat Mui commune, Ngoc Dien district, and 100 km South of Ca Mau city. It lies between two sea streams: North-South and West-South with two different tide regimes creating a large area of some 10,000 hectares and advancing to the sea 80-100 metres a year. In Ca Mau cape, tourists can enjoy special sea foods from various kinds of oysters, shrimp and crab. It is also a land of legends that every Vietnamese wishes to visit once in his/her life. The submerged area is a rich and diversified bio-sphere. In Ca Mau Cape, tourists can visit the National Border Mark, forest, sea and resistance war base and in the late afternoon watch picturesque sunset at the sea.
Thi Tuong lake
After one-hour ride by high-speed boat on Xang Ba Keo canal to the direction of Thailand gulf, visitors will arrive at a lake of 700 hectares,10 km long and 2 km wide. The bio-sphere with wild beauty and cultural-historical relics have attracted a big number of tourists every year. Thi Tuong lake is composed of three lakes: Dam Trong, Dam Giua and Dam Ngoai (Inside, Middle and Outside). The Middle is the biggest with several rows of stilt houses 100 metres apart. It is also the fishing area for each household.
Unlike other tourist centres, Thi Truong lake has no restaurant or recreation centre. It has instead stilt houses where tourists can visit and understand the livelihood of the locals. They can also ride in small boats winding through bushes of water coconut trees and discover the local nature. It is also the favourite place for photographers, cameramen, researchers and adventure tourists to discover the wilderness and landscapes of the Mekong Delta.
Hon Khoai islands
Hon Khoai islands belong to Ngoc Hien district, with an area of over 5 sq. kilometres, 318 metres above the sea level at the highest point, and 14 km from the coastline. In Hon Khoai, tourists can enjoy walking along the beach full of beautiful pebbles, mountain climbing, trekking, visiting primitive forests with a thousand kinds of trees and plants and a hundred kinds of fauna.
On the highest part of Hon Khoai, a light house was built in the 19th century. From the light house, visitors can watch the greenery of Doi Moi island. In the old time Hon Khoai was called Giang Huong or Doc Lap, or Poulo Obi by the French. Along the winding road, visitors can discover jack fruit trees and mango trees. Some are a hundred years old. There are also several medical herbs and wild flowers of all colours. Visitors can spend sometime listening to the sound of the water flowing over the rocks and birds singing in the bushes. It is almost a fairyland in the middle of the sea.
With moderate climate and beautiful landscapes, forest and sea, Hon Khoai is most appropriate for eco-tourism, research and resort. In 1994, Ministry of Culture has recognized Hon Khoai as a national relic.
Khai Long sea-tourism

A rectangular rock with smooth surface at the sea side is called “Fairy bridge”. Visitors are most attracted by romantic landscapes and wilderness of the submerged coastline.
