Approval for highway project connecting Ha Long with Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway

Following the guidance of deputy prime minister Hoang Trung Hai, the leaders of Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong City signed the agreement on building the connection road between Ha Long City and Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway. The signing ceremony took place in Hai Phong City on October 19, 2010.

In details, the connecting highway connecting the two expressways of Hanoi-Hai Phong and Ha Long-Mong Cai has total length of 25 kilometres with six lanes, and designed speed for vehicles of 100-110 km/h. The starting point will be the connecting point with Hanoi-Hai Phong Expressway in Dong Hai 2 Ward, Hai An Dist, Hai Phong City.

It was expected that after finishing the construction works, the distance from Dinh Vu Port, Hai Phong to Mong Cai Town, Quang Ninh province and vice versa will be shortened by over 50 kilometres in comparison with the current road, making contribution in socio-economic development progress in the northern region, in general. – TBKTVN
