An Thoi international port inaugurated
A ceremony was held on June 27 to inaugurate An Thoi port on Phu Quoc island, Kien Giang province.
The port is being built at a cost of VND149 billion with a design capacity to handle 280,000 tonnes of cargo and 440,000 passengers every year.
It has two quays, one that can berth ships up to 3,000 tonnes and one that can handle larger ships of up to 30,000 tonnes.
The port is not yet finished, but it is expected to be fully operational by 2011.
