Acldt to open Satellite clinic in Vietnam
Singapore-based Asian Centre for Liver Diseases and Transplantation (ACLDT) has opened a satellite clinic in Vietnam.
The Asian Liver Centre, Vietnam is a joint venture with Vietnam’s Hoa Lam Investment Development Group. It will offer diagnostics, endoscopy and consultations to patients having Hepatitis B and C, fatty liver, liver cancer and alcoholic liver disease.
“For ACLDT, this centre is strategically important as it our first satellite clinic. Its success will pave the way for more centres in Asia and possibly the Middle East,” said ACLDT’s executive chair and lead surgeon Dr Tan Kai Chah.
The 500-square-metre facility is located in Vietnam’s central business district. It has examination rooms, an endoscopy suite, ultrasound room and a pharmacy. Doctors from Singapore can consult with patients in Vietnam through the facility’s tele-medical technology. ACLDT said it currently treats about 270 Vietnamese patients a year and has conducted five liver transplantations for Vietnamese patients to date.
