94-km Nghi Son-Bai Vot expressway project

The Ministry of transport sent a document to the Ministry of planning and Investment to register expressway Nghi Son-Bai Vot project.

The 94.1-kilometer highway, which will link Nghi Son in Thanh Hoa province and Bai Vot in Ha Tinh province, is a part of North-South expressway project approved by the prime minister. World bank has provided a loan for the project for the period of 2011 to 2014 with total planned loan of one million dollar.

Under a proposal by consultant Road and Bridge Engineering Consultants JSC (TEDI), the expressway will have between four and six lanes and allow vehicles to travel at 120 km/hour. Total investment capital estimated at about 20 trillion dong.

Final report on the Nghi Son-Bai Vot expressway project is expected to be finished on October 2010. – VIR
