3tr dong for constructing Quang Trach Power Centre

The National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam – PVN) and Quang Binh Province People’s Committee have officially started construction on infrastructure facilities of Quang Trach Power Centre project with total investment capital of three trillion dong on Sep 11, 2010. The construction works are expected to complete after one year, serving for constructing Quang Trach 1 power plant with designed capacity of 1,200 MW.

Quang Trach Power Centre has total designed capacity of 2,400 MW, including two coal-fed plants. The construction was divided into two phases. In the first phase, the power centre would have designed capacity of 1,200 MW, to be put into operation in 2015 and the second phase of additional 1,200 MW in 2016.

One of PetroVietnam’s leaders revealed that up to now, many foreign investors showed their concerns in investment on Quang Trach Power Centre, however, the negotiation process was not yet finished. – Dautu
