240 businesses join Vietnam – Cambodia trade fair

240 businesses are showcasing their products at the Vietnam-Cambodia trade fair ‘Friendship, Co-operation and Development’ which opened in Phnom Penh on November 6.

The five-day fair, which is part of the Vietnamese Defence Ministry’s national trade promotion programme, are showcasing household goods, pharmaceuticals, food and industrial products.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Deputy Defence Minister Nguyen Van Duoc said the fair offers a chance to introduce products and services made by Vietnam’s army-run enterprises to the Cambodians as well as international customers.

The same day, within the fair’s framework, a group of 40 doctors and experts of Vietnam’s Military Hospital 175 conducted eye check-up and surgeries for 500 poor Cambodian patients.

The trade fair’s organising board presented printers and learning aids to Sotheaross secondary school.

Representatives of the Defence Ministry attended the launching ceremony of a waterway service connecting the two countries operated by Vietnam’s New Saigon Port Corporation.
