VN Index continues increasing momentum

After the trading session on May 27, Vietnam’s stock market continued to increase, marking the fourth consecutive gain of VN Index.

In details, ending the first phase, the index of Hochiminh Stock Exchange (STC) slashed 1.06 points or 0.22 percent to 491.63 pts with the total trading volume of over 3.3 million shares worth 95.55 billion dong.

In the following stage, the VN Index rallied 2.72 points or 0.55 percent to 495.41 pts with the total trading volume of over 30.6 million shares valued at nearly one trillion dong.

Finally, the VN Index gained 4.47 points or 0.91 percent to end at 497.16 pts with the total matching order trade of over 37.3 million shares for over 1.2 trillion dong.

Nearly 60 percent of listed shares increased in price in the trading session today. According to the statistic, amongst 230 share codes and four fund certificates, 136 shares increased with 27 reaching the ceiling price, 47 decreased with one falling to the floor price and 48 remained unchanged at the reference price.

Some gainers were BVH +1,300 dong, DPM, SSI, PVF +200 dong, VIC and FPT +1,000 dong and bank shares such as EIB slipped slightly and STB stood still.

SSI took the pole place in terms of trading volume with 1.69 million shares and then VHG with 1.67 million, VNE 1.46 million and others such as TLH, REE, OGC and STB.

Like the southern bourse, the HNX Index also gained 0.35 points or 0.22 percent to 159.83 pts with the total market trade of over 31.2 million shares valued at 978.1 billion dong.

Statistic showed that 153 shares increased (accounting for 52 percent of total listed shares), 112 others decreased and 22 stood still including eight with no trades.

Some key stocks still fell such as ACB, SHB, KLS, PVS, BVS while others increased in price like PVE, PVA, PVL, and PDC.

PVX gained 100 dong and reached the biggest trading volume with 3.8 million shares and followed by KLS with 1.53 million and others like VCG, PVL and VSP.

Foreign investors bought 240,100 shares and sold 85,200 shares worth 7.45 billion dong and 2.49 billion dong respectively.
