Cam Pha Cement Joint Stock Co reported exporting first 15,000 tonnes of clinker to Middle East market for the first time yesterday June 30, 2010.
It is considered the important milestone in Vietnam’s cement industry because peviously, Vietnam have had to import clinker from Thailand and China at high prices to supply for domestic cement plants.
Hoang Anh Tuan, general director of Cam Pha Cement Joint Stock Co revealed that the company’s long-term development strategy was to expand business outside Vietnam and to seek potential clinker export markets.
Cam Pha cement plant was officially put into operation in April 2008.
However, after nearly one year of operation, the company’s cement products have been largely used in construction sites of large projects such as Keangnam Hanoi, Hanoi Museum, five-star Charmvit Hanoi Hotel and Cam Pha thermo power plant.
Up to now, Cam Pha Cement Plant has already produced and sold 1.8 million tonnes of clinker and 2.1 million tonnes of cement.
