Vietnam mobile phone maker ties up with Yahoo!

ahoo! Vietnam signed a deal with Vietnam’s largest handset maker Q-mobile Thursday to provide Internet applications on its phones.

They will include Yahoo! Frontpage, Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! News, Yahoo! Search, Yahoo! Messenger, which can be accessed by clicking on the default icons on the screen.

Yahoo! said the partnership will help it penetrate deeper into the Vietnamese market where more than 17 million people use its services.

ABTel, the company that makes Q-mobile, said cooperation with a leading global online firm will provide its customers more useful applications and online services.

It offers 58 models that sell 3.6 million units per year.
