The first trading session of June ended with satisfactory results on Hochiminh Stock Exchange (STC) as the VN Index rallied after a fall.

Closing the first stage, the VN Index still slipped 2.26 points or 0.45 percent to 505.18 pts with the total trading volume of over 3.1 million shares worth over 100 billion dong.

In the following stage, the VN Index regained 1.69 points or 0.33 percent to 509.13 pts with the total trading volume of over 30 million shares for 943.14 billion dong.

At the time of closing, the VN Index resumed 1.24 points or 0.24 percent to end at 508.68 pts with the total matching order trade of over 35.9 million shares valued at over 1.123 trillion dong, down 10 percent in volume and 12 percent in value from the previous session.

The southern bourse today welcomed two new share codes namely PXT and SBA.

According to the statistic, amongst 236 share codes and four fund certificates on STC, the market saw 91 gainers with 16 reaching the ceiling price, 94 losers with four slipping to the floor price and 48 standing still at the comparative price.

Some blue-chips supported the market including PPC, KBC. REE, VCB, VNM, PVF, ITA, HPG, HAG, FPT, and DPM whereas three bank shares CTG, EIB and STB along with SSI slashed.

ITA today led the market in terms of trading volume with 2.55 million shares and followed by VNE with 1.76 million, STB 1.4 million and SSI with 1.38 million shares.

Conversely, the HNX Index today lost 0.69 points or 0.42 percent to end at only 162.91 pts.

The total trading volume reached 31.64 million shares worth over 1.044 trillion dong, up 5 percent in both volume and value over the previous session.
