Securities market develops strongly

Viet Nam’s securities market has developed strongly despite the global crisis, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung said yesterday at the ceremony to mark the 10th year of the market’s operation.

This was partly due to the market’s management function being separated from its organisation and operation functions, Hung said.

Regulations and legal frameworks were made compatible with world regulations, he said, and investors and intermediaries had increased in volume and quality.

Thanks to the securities market, the country had also built financial and monetary markets.

The market had created another channel for long-term capital for enterprises, he said.

Hung said in the coming period transparency must be increased and the quality of products on the market must be improved to ensure the interest of investors. — VNS
