China increases 13pct electricity price for Vietnam
“Due to the input costs together with the Chinese yuan increased, the electricity price for Vietnam also surged” the information source said.
Previously, China has also adjusted up the electricity price for Vietnam about 12 percent, from 4.5 cents/kWh to 5.1 cents per kWh.
Since April, Vietnam has continued to increase electricity import from China by 100 million kWh to meet enough electricity during two last months of the dry season this year.
In 2011, Vietnam will buy approximately 4.6 billion kWh of electricity from China, accounting for 4 percent of the national electricity supply.
Currently, Vietnam’s electricity purchase from China is to provide for the 12 northern provinces of Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, Son La, Dien Bien, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Yen Bai, Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang.
