ASEAN-EU relations conference to open in Hanoi Dec 9-10
Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi will host the third conference on Association of the Southeast Asian Nations-European Union relations on Dec. 9-10, according to a press release of the Wallonia-Brussels Delegation to Vietnam.
The conference, under the theme of “Community-Building, Bilateral/Bi-Regional Relations and Economic Diplomacyâ€, will focus on topics of building political security, an economic and socio-cultural community and Vietnam-EU and ASEAN-EU relations.
It will also discuss economic diplomacy in the 21st century, lessons from the Vietnamese Chairmanship of ASEAN as well as the Belgian Presidency of the EU.
The conference is expected be interesting opportunity for the participants to shares experiences as Vietnam to complete the ASEAN’s presidency while Spain and Belgium have chaired the European Council, Franck Pezza, chief representative of the Wallonia-Brussels Delegation to Vietnam said.
“This conference will also be an opportunity to celebrate the 20 years of diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and the EU and to look towards the future of a very rich and developing relationship,†he added.
The first two conferences were organized in 2008 and 2009. – Vietnam+
